With their success in the mobile esports industry, Blacklist is expanding their wings to PC platform by forming a team for MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game Dota 2. This announcement has been made by Blacklist after The international 2022 that was won by Tundra Esports.
This Filipino team has scouted players from their own country. Their roster is filled by big names from this Southeast Asian country. Currently, there are 5 players that have joined: Karl and Kuku who were once in T1, Raven from Fnatics, Tims from Boom Esports, and ex player from Polaris, Eyyou.
Blacklist International expanded to Dota 2 by acquisitioning RSG to get the SEA division 1 slot in the upcoming DPC 2022/2023. With these big names coming, their goal is to be the best in the Southeast Asia region and win the ticket to The International 2023.
For those unfamiliar with Blacklist, this team has been successful in the mobile esports industry, especially Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Blacklist International’s MLBB decision has won their country’s biggest league (MPL PH) multiple times. This team also represented the Philippines in the 31st SEA GAMES and won the gold medal. Their biggest achievement is succeeding to become world champions in the M3 World Championship. Now, they are also guaranteed to participate in the M3 World Championship under the mission to become back-to-back champions.
Blacklist’s expansion to Dota 2 becomes proof that esports is growing rapidly, especially in Southeast Asia. This of course mirrors the growth of game enthusiasts.
